A Letter to Parents

Parents,
Over the summer, students entering grades one through eight at Gardendale Classical Academy will be required to read at least two books from the attached summer reading list. Students should pick from the list based on the
grade level they most recently completed. This requirement must be satisfied by submitting a book report on each book they read. The deadline for summer
reading book reports is September 11, 2025. This requirement ensures that your child maintains reading skills and a healthy consumption of classic literature throughout the summer months. Many of the titles on the list are available for check out at both area county libraries and are available for purchase on Amazon, or at the Friends of the Library resale shop in Midland. Thank you for continuing to partner with GCA in pursuing excellence by educating children via the classical method. We look forward to an even better school year beginning in August!

Blessings,

Cheridan Looney
Head of School
